Hi,
Got today (1-13-2011) an email about an update of FilterForge 2 being available. I have Windows XP 32-bit and FF2 installed; when I run the program and let it look for updates it founds one and downloads it. After the download I get an eror message regarding the installer not having 64-bit access in the registry in this version of Windows. Haven't tried downloading and installing manually but for now I just wanted to let know about the described issue. Cheers, Roberto |

Yup, I've downloaded the FF installer file and I got the same pop-up twice after runing the installer on Windows XP 32-bit.
Anyway, FF gets to install and it seems to be working ok. Thanks for the update. |

Yep me to.....The installer seems to look for 64 bit versions first then if it does not find it then it errors out two times because it does not find a 64 bit version then installs the 32 bit version....But it installs correctly and it runs fine..... ![]() btw this is installing manually....Which I always do on everything that I use..To have a backup on hand in case I do not have access online for some reason... ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Turned out that when simply ignoring the two error messages, the installer indeed manages to update FF2 without any further problems. At least the updated version seems to work fine at first glance.
Didn't do any fancy testing, though; just opening images, browsing through some filters, and opening the filter editor. So far so good but still: error messages showing up is no good as it might confuse people who want to play safe (not ignoring error messages). Good to hear others experienced the same bug and thanks for sharing: hopefully a FF developer will look into it ![]() Cheers, Roberto |

Hi Jane, thanks for your feedback.
The install was ok without any pop-up now. Thanks FF team for the hotfix. Just a comment: you need to update your Djekki profile and type in your "User Tittle" filed the text "Filter Forge, Inc.", so users get sure that "Djekki" is from FF team. ;0) Of course it doesn't mean too much once anyone can edit "User Tittle" and pretend that is from FF team. The forum should have some icon or text for members from FF team. ;0) |

Hi Djekki,
I already updated FF2 by ignoring the error messages but I did some testing anyway: - Downloaded the exe manually and installed it: no errors. - uninstalled FF2, reinstalled the previous version of FF2, let it update from within the app: no errors either. Seems the issue in XP (only?) has been fixed. Thanks for taking action so quickly! Cheers, Roberto |

Hi Uglyboys,
I didn't run into that problem. Even not when I first uninstalled FF2. Roberto |
