Filter Forge 4 shuts down Photoshop CS6 everytime

I am running Filter Forge 4 on Windows 8. Every time I open FF4, PS quits running due to an 'encountered problem'; no message code. Please help!

what Photoshop are you using?

Have you tried to reinstall FF 4?

There may be someone monitoring these forums who can give you a tip on how to solve the problem, but they would need more information than you have provided.

Generally speaking, Filter Forge 4 works fine on Windows 8 in conjunction with Photoshop CS6, so the problem must be specific to your computer or workflow.

Please provide more information about your system and the steps to reproduce the Photoshop crash. Is Filter Forge 4 the first version of Filter Forge you have used?

pcw, if it is Photoshop that crashes, you should contact Adobe support with that.

I'm having the same problem. Just bought filter forge 4 (standard) and am working on a Windows 7 machine, using creative cloud photoshop. Everytime I open filter forge, photoshop stops working -- it was only stopping sporadically when I was using the test download, but isn't filter forge 4 30 days test and the filter forge 4 standard the same thing?

I'll check to see if there are any comments over at adobe for help, too.

I've checked the adobe forums and can't find any mention of the problem. Seems like there would be because there are lots of Filter Forge users out there! In the meantime, I'll just try using Filter Forge as a stand-alone program.

I'm afraid we can't reproduce this. If Filter Forge works correctly in the standalone mode, I would suspect something is wrong with the host application.
