I have attached below two copies of the library filter Polygons. The first was a copy of the file (deleting all but the default preset for uniform comparison), and the second a copy of the internals in the filter editor.
Strangely one behaves differently than the other with respect to modification of the filter itself by itself. When launching the filter (only clicking on the icon), the file hash changes in the case of the first attached example, but not in the second. Please can anyone investigate and help explain the behavior? I have built a handy tool to get an accurate list of files that have actually been modified, but 15 out of 726 of my files have this strange phenomenon occuring. a4Polygons - Copy.ffxml _____________________________________________________

The devs implemented something that will prevent FFXML changes upon launch. I don't have specific details yet – it should go live in the 6.008 update.
Vladimir may be able to provide further details, if needed. |

Thanks for the info GMM. Hopefully it will prevent changes unless something is actually changed in the filter. Oddly another filter of mine misbehaves in such a way that when there are 3 or more presets there is a check sum change on launch. Very mysterious.

I believe starting with 6.008 FF won't touch the FFXML file if it hasn't changed. Feel free to check if this solves your issue.
On a side note, this also allows you to create a filter in an older program version (say, FF5), then view the filter in a later FF version without losing the ability to open it in the old version again. |
