Today, I downloaded Filter Forge 7, So I desinstalled Filter Forge 5, but left Filter Forge 6. I transferred the files over from Filter Forge 6 to 7 but there is a problem. Filter Forge 7 does not show up in the filters menu in Photoshop 7 plus Filter Forge 6 doesnt work now, an error message says it is missing dgbhelp-xfw.dll
Does anyone have any suggestions? Filter Forge is brilliant after using it for a number of years, but for me its abit of an upheaval of updating to a new version I remember when I updated to 6 - and the wondering if I could transfer the old filters over Best regards Peter Sketcher |

Do you really mean Photoshop 7? The one released in 2002? It belongs in a museum!
Joking aside: please check the list of supported host applications: https://www.filterforge.com/download/hosts.html You can also copy and paste images between FF7 and any graphic editor regardless of plugin compatibility. |

Sadly you guys do not support the old Photoshop CS version I run either. And while these old versions belong in a museum in one sense, the pricing model was far preferable on these older versions. The pricing model belongs OUT of the museum and Adobe's new one belongs in the trash.

Yes, ok its 2002 but it works for me.....and I dont pay the fees Adobe are asking now. I may look at Adobe CS just to see what I am missing....
Even though I run an older version - I am upto date with my subscription to Filter Forge. When we look at the prices Adobe are asking.....it may well be many will resort to older versions of Photoshop or go over to Gimp.....which I have too, but I need to learn how to use it to get the most out of it.... So I am giving some feedback I still need to know how to load Filter Forge 7 into Photoshop 7....maybe someone has a work around or a thread to help.. Thanks Sketcher |

FilterForge wasn't even born!
It seems far too old for this latest version to support it. Photoshop 7 was 16 years ago. most graphics programs of this year aren't even that backwards compatible in terms of plugins, especially with the ever-changing landscape of hardware, massive changes and improvements to coding and etc etc. Not even sure if there are workarounds, likely there are none. The best I can think of is to use Standalone... sorry for the sort of non-answer. |

Thanks for the info about no support for older versions of Photoshop. I have Photoshop CS4, which Filter Forge 5 and 6 supports. Filter Forge 7 does work fine as a stand-alone.
Like PeterM, I cannot justify the new Adobe CC price scheme. But moving forward, I been thinking of buying Photoshop Elements 2018. I know of reasonably priced plugins to restore some missing tools - which should be good enough for my use. Also need to update to the last stand-alone version of Lightroom before that option is gone too. |
