Saw this in FF 9.007, and seeing it in FF 10.004. In these examples, I am running FF in standalone mode, though these behaviors also appear when using FF as a plugin.

The component snap-to-grid behavior has recently gotten imprecise. In FF 5, the top-right corners of the components snapped to the gridline intersections, and connection wires could follow a perfectly vertical line. Here's a screenshot fr om FF5:

Importing this filter from FF5 into FF9/10 results in the top-right corners of the components getting offset so that those corners are now halfway between two vertical gridlines, instead alongside only one. Also, the connection wires that had been drawn in perfectly vertical lines in FF5 are now very slightly diagonal in FF9/10.

Attempting to recreate this component structure reveals component behavior wh ere dropping components on the grid results in those components hopping several random gridlines away from the mouse cursor location - generally, no more than 3-5 gridlines horizontally, and 1-3 gridlines vertically, and always to the left of the cursor. Here's a screenshot of my attempt to duplicate the FF5 setup in FF10:

The 0.5 gridline offset could be seen as a minor annoyance. I like my vertical lines, and would miss them if they were gone forever, but I could deal with it. But the jittery, unpredictable behavior of component placement is a major problem that interferes with a clear organizational layout.

Perhaps this behavior might have something to do with my difficulty in working with groups in FF? Who knows?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
