I noticed this problem just right after I did the new update to 1.008, although I'm not sure if it was there before or not. It might just be a cosmetic glitch, but when I submit filters, their names show up weird in the "Brand New Filter/Update" box and they always have either a:
. [ 0 or one of those clear symbols like [] (Not sure how to type the actual character) at the very end of it or some combination of the above. This doesn't seem to effect that actual name of the Filter when you proceed to submit it, but it did throw me for a bit of a loop at first. -Zephos |

Ah, I see. Whatever it was, it seems to be fixed now ~^_^~. Didn't see the glitch when I just uploaded my latest filter a couple of minutes ago, and rechecked it twice to make sure ^_^ Thanks for checking out the issue for me though ^_^
Oh yes, nice tutorial! I've never updated a filter yet, so I found the mention of that part where you select the filter you update quite helpful (I thought before that the filter had to have the exact same name to update, good to know this is not the case). Do you have any other tutorials? Good stuff! ^_^ -Zephos |

Zephos, thanks for reporting!
![]() This error was still there in the 1.008 update, so we fixed it right now and uploaded the fix with a couple of other things as a hotfix. It will also be included into the next update. The next update is going to be rather soon, so you can either wait for it, or download the hotfix right now from http://www.filterforge.com/download/ (just download the setup.exe as usual, it's the same version 1.008, only another build). |

wasnt this due to when a filter had the same name as another?

Ah, I see! Thank you for letting me know Bella, glad that I could be of help ^_- The hotfix sounds good, I think I'll give it a spin, thank you and the rest of the Filter Forge team for looking into it and fixing the problem so quickly, you guys are awesome ~^_^~!
Oh yes, thanks for the other tutorial CFandM, I'm checking it out now ^_^. I think I might have misunderstood the part on updating though on the last tutorial, I'll check it up again, ahahah *nervous laugh*. Oh, Kraellin, is there a warning or error that comes up when you try to upload a filter with the same name? I recall reading a topic way back on a filter called Neon Nights where something like that happened, but I was wondering if this case is similar to what you are referring to, thanks ^_^ -Zephos |

Yep that was here. http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...10&TID=535 It was just when I submitted Neon Nights I didn't look at the already posted filters. There was one that was called NeoNites..It was just a tip that I posted.. Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

To Kraellin: No, this error wasn't related to filters having identical names.

ok, thanks bella
![]() all i remember is that for a while, i was getting those odd symbols also. that was a couple version back and i dont even recall when it stopped. i sort of had the idea back then that this happened when i made a filter in my filters that had the same name as one already there, but if you say otherwise, bella, why ok. Just curious as to what it was..I was thinking maybe something to do with the number of characters in the name or perhaps extra spaces produced this error..Just a guess.. Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

No, this didn't have anything to do with the name itself. Just an interface glitch -- the name, whatever it was, was displayed incorrectly.
