I'm using he demo of animator, and have run into a problem. I'm trying to render presets in the Animated Fire (by IFredQC). If I add the keyframes on time and hit the play button, it makes and displays the preset preview window just fine, but if I try to render it just does the first preset and not the preset I selected.

Also when trying to save out an animation, why am I not able to modify the save name directly in the input box instead of having to select browse and save a new file name?

RLOwens, thanks for your report but it's difficult to visualize. Please send us the source image file, the filter file (.ffxml) and the project file (.affproj).

Click File > Save Project, and you'll be able to type in the desired file name.

Sorry for late response, I figured out the animation problem.
As for the naming problem, I don't mean when saving a project. I mean when saving out the rendered animation,shown in following screenshot.
