Welcome to the forums!
This is not related to the File > Render Animation command, you'll get the same result when selecting Save Image As. The pink color is the default error color. Most probably your filter is trying to divide something by zero. |

Hi GMM, thank you for your reply!
The Save Image As function is working correctly in my environment, too. (I output 60 images individually to make an animated GIF.) I tried it on two different machines with the same result. |

Does it happen with a different filter?

I tried animation filters created by someone else. No errors appeared. There seems to be something unusual about my filters, but I haven't figured it out yet.
Errors occur in three of my four filters in the filter library. |

The filters that did not have the error could not use Seamless Tiling.
If Seamless Tiling is turned on, the same error occurs for filters created by others. The result was the same for output via a video. |

When creating a filter one has to think of the usage for that filter. This will sometimes give a direction on when to use the components marked with the word Free. I took a look at some of your filters and seen that you were using the free components in the groups. Changing the xy Anchor to max seems to fix the issue. After I did this the filter above seems to work fine. There are also seamless and non-seamless components that once in a while do not play nice with each other so it is a balance of their usage when using those in the same filter. Sacrificing one thing for another thing is part of that balance.

The issue is with the lookup being a seamless component and the profile gradients being seamless. If you use the free gradients with this but slightly modded there is no issue, if this is what you are going for. Change the xy anchor on the gradients.

Meant to say the lookup being a non-seamless and the profile gradient being a seamless. Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

First, what version of FF are you using?. Basic, pro, etc.......
Second, what size is the blank image and change the fill color alpha to transparent when changing the size. Third, Instead of using the phase connect the Normalized time to the offset on the profile gradient and connect the map component to the profile gradient. see if the same thing happens. Also check the size, pixels by the seamless checkbox to make sure it is all the way up. You could also try the filter I posted to see if the same thing happens. I did not have any issue with rendering frames. The only other thing I can suggest although you may have done this already is create a new filter with just the above components that you posted if you have not done so. There might be a floating component somewhere.

Ok I thought about this problem and thought back to a bug report I made over 15 years ago. Took me a minute to get to the right number to reproduce the error that you have. Maybe when reporting the bug the FF team will have a direction to go.
![]() ![]() Seamless tiling was turned on and a blank image of the size posted was created. Then rendered as you posted. ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

One other thing that I noticed about this. Since I could not reproduce it it did take a bit to reproduce it. Once I did now the 1500x1500 now give me the result as above.

You are very welcome. Sometimes the hard part is figuring out how to reproduce the bugs.
![]() I tried just a simple profile gradient and got the same result. Saving the image at 1500x1500 all was normal then I rendered a frame of the animation and got the bug...... ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Kinda of a odd issue although it could be a quick fix sorta maybe. I uninstalled FF 14 and reinstalled. I then used the gradient filter tree above and rendered a frame without the seamless tile enabled. I used 1651x1500 px. I then rendered another frame with the seamless tile checked at the same size of 1651x1500 px.
Now check the same method at the size of 1500x1500 to see if you now get a good image... If you get a good image then see if you are good to go.. Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

It is a random one when it wants to show up or disappear. I uninstalled and manually deleted the folders that the uninstaller does not. Then I downloaded the installer from the website and installed from that. Regardless I will now move on to something else and wait to see what happens with this one..

Thank you for everything. I'll try this ritual again later.
I'm writing this as a note below, so you don't have to worry about it anymore. I deleted the following folders after uninstalling, but it did not improve. Is there anything else I should delete after uninstalling? C:\Program Files\Filter Forge 14 C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 14 |

You are welcome and I had to try it again because it was annoying me that I did not have an answer. ![]() I did figure it out and the reason. When you are in the main window for FF at the bottom there is a button to display the image in draft mode. When you are in draft mode saving an image saves as normal but for some reason it does not when rendering animations or frames. Simply clicking that off to get out of draft mode works. ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

So now we got... With draft mode on and specific filters with specific components that have specific basic animated properties and seamless tiling turned on.
Create a new blank image of at least 1500x1500. Saving the image as normal works as it should. Rendering a frame or an animation will produce the oddness. Turning draft mode off in the main workspace fixes the issue.... ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Glad you got it working.
![]() Working in actual size is something I do unless there is a slowdown in rendering. It is unusual for the draft mode and rendering of animated frames to have the oddness on only certain filters while working fine with others in the same mode.
