i still maintain that this is most probably a windows bug and not so much an FF bug. |
I strongly (and tactfully

) have to agree to dissagree about that one. I have alot of programs on my computer.....and EVERYTHING works fine except for Filter Forge....
The other thing is that all of my other programs run fine until I start and run into problems with Filter Forge.....and when FF starts having problems, everything else on my system starts having problems too.....so from what I am experiencing, there is absolutely no doubt that this problem is eminating from Filter Forge. It is a royal pain in the butt to deal with, but it doesn't seem to be doing any harm to my other programs. As mentioned, this problem can and will 0-byte your filters even if they are saved. From my experience, it usually 0-bytes the filter you have open when FF crashes.....
Until this ongoing problem gets worked out, I would strongly recommend fequently backing up the FF folder.....or set it up to be automatically backed up every 10 min or so while working in it. On XP, the FF folder is hidden in your 'Documents and Settings' folder.....so for those who don't know about it or can't find it, search your computer for "FilterForge" and it will come up. Better safe than sorry.....especially if you are working on something that can not be easily re-created.....
