A power failure caused me to reinstall Corel PSP X3. I put FF2 back in the 'file locations', and I can get to it through X3, but I get this error message:

<class XFW::OSCallError> ::CreateFileW(file 'C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp\\Filter Forge x86-SSE2.log') failed with error code 0x00000005: Access is denied.

I uninstalled and reinstalled FF2 using my DVD, downloaded another version from the website, uninstalled both X3 and FF2 and reinstalled both. Always the same error. I also then did a reg fix to remove old Corel and FF2 junk. Nothing. I also have a FF3 beta which doesn't show up at all in X3, but I would settle for getting good old FF2 back.

FF2 works standalone, but it is really awful going back and forth trying to use multiple filters.

Please try to run PSP using the administrator privileges.

What I had to do was use the REVO uninstaller to remove all bits of Filter Forge, and then I moved the remaining empty folders to the trash. I did a registry scan and fix and then reinstalled FF2. It now works very well, although I had the same problem with FF 3 beta. I uninstalled and reinstalled '3' but it still didn't work giving 'access denied' messages related to the Applications data / roaming folder. I will live without '3' until I need it.

Randy, did (or does) FF3 work correctly in the standalone mode for you?

Please try to run PSP under the admin account, then start FF from within PSP.

Please try to delete 'C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp\\Filter Forge x86-SSE2.log' and start FF from within PSP. Please do all this on an admin account.
