Filter Forge - PFM file type and default File

bweil Egraphic Posts: 2	Used the free-standing version of Filter Forge for the first time, and found that the default file \| open location was my fonts directory (perhaps because PFM files are located there, and that's a valid file type) - is that correct? It's apparent that PFM files (as in postscript type 1 fonts) is not what is meant by legal .pfm file types, what is the purpose of that file extension? I looked on the Wiki page and searched the forum to no avail. Thanks. Bob

Posts: 274	True, the fonts directory was opened because it was the default File > Open directory on your system at the moment (probably, the most recently used path) and because it contained PFM files. PFM (Portable Float Map) is an unofficial extension to the pbm image format that supports HDR imaging. As Filter Forge employs HDR images, it supports PFM files.
