This has quite low priority, but when zooming out far out of the filter tree it would be nice to have a magnifying glass/field around the mouse cursor so one could connect components precisely.

Good idea.
When working on more complex filters you often have to connect a node fr om opposit ends of the node field. You have to zoom out to see them both, and then it's really hard to see the connection points on the recieving node. An alternative to magnifying glass would be a hot key (Lets say Ctrl), that while held, zooms the sceren back to 100% on wh ere the mouse is. |

I think that I have seen some time ago a free software tool that made possible to have a loupe tool to be applied to ANY software that had small text or images and was activated by a hot key or shortcut.
I used it once long time ago, and was a good one and useful, but after I changed the computer last year I lost it. I am sorry that I do not remember the name and where I have seen it but if I find it I will put it here |

Thx for your suggestion SpaceRay!
That would work to a certain zoom level. |

I have found this tool fow Windows that is called "OneLoupe 2.62" that shows a window with a big view to be able to make small things like sprite or icon painting, so it could be perhaps useful for this.
This is FREEWARE and DO NOT NEED INSTALLATION http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Microsoft/OneLoupe Here is a video to show how it works http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Micr...e/RealTime ANd here are the instructions on how to use it http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Micr...reenshot-1 ![]() You can enlarge the zoom from level 1 to level 9 and can make the loupe window bigger as you want it to fit what you need. I have tried it with Filter Forge and it works in some way, I mean that you do not a clear preview because the graphics are too small and look pixelized but could work probably to find the link points on distant points ![]() ![]() ![]() |

SpaceRay, thanks for the nice zoom tool!
That could come in handy for larger filters. A built in zoom window window inside FF would be much better as there won't be any pixelization going on even on extreme zoom-out situations, but that should help for now.
That is a dissapointment, but I don't think it's that bad. If you want to connect far components to eachother, you can easily use the normal window to pull the arrow from the output of first node (no need for zoom there), and then the arrow becomes your "pointer" in the zoom window. |

Thx for the effort Spacey Ray!
![]() I'll check it out. edit: You can actually click on things and pull connections when you switch to the workmode of the app. (F4) Here are the .ini settings that work well for me: [Program] cx=300 cy=200 zoom=4.000000 zoom_mode=2 full_screen=0 window_border=1 close_by_mouse_down=0 Works reasonably well when not zoomed out too much. I set a shortcut to activate the magnifying glass but it doesn't work reliably after repeated closing. Problem is to end it, because you have to leave the workmode first to have mousefocus on the app or to klick at the taskbar. Trying to killing the process with a shortcut didn't work either. |

Glad it is probably helpful for you
Thanks for the information, I have not seen that it has different modes with F1, F2 F3 and F4 BUT I had a big problem, when I was switching to F4 all the loupe screen gets completely black and it appears the mouse and can click on things BUT can´t see anything as it is pitch black. only can see outside of the loupe windows ![]() ![]() Then after I opened the .ini settings file and had more settings and added things than yours so I made it the same as yours and then it worked right. Thanks
Thanks for putting this as with this I could make it to work |
