Just now I'm updating a filter.
I thought to change something, because the filter structure wasn't good enough.
I was writing the name of a Checkbox for a switch : "Front Image Border Y/N"
It is used to add a border to the front image.
I can only type until.... "Front Image Border Y". 20 Characters.
I can't cut "Front" because there is a back image too.
I can't cut "Image" because.... "Front" what?
I can't cut "Border" because that's what the control adds.
I didn't even write "Yes or No", just "Y/N", to make it shorter....
This time I may change "Image" to "Pic", simply because I don't have another way to solve it.
This is only an example. It is not the first time that I must write "strange" names for some control.
I'm not making a huge filter. It only has 13 controls.
But, .... because also other people are going to use it, not only me, the controls names should be something understandable.
Yes, I know that the controls have a well defined size.
I know that the designer decided to allow 20 characters in a Checkbox because they are the best fitting number for appearing in the Checkbox size.
I'm sure that there are always very good reasons for all what was done.
But... I still believe that it would be nice if we could write some more character. What about 40 characters?
( GMM will think I'm noisy.

This period I'm writing a lot in the Features Wishlist. Ha! Ha!
Sorry.
I only say my opinion about what could improve FF. I hope it can be useful, no matter if it will be modified or not ).
