Instead of "Warning: Once deleted this filter cannot be restored", why not just send them to the recycle bin?

Sounds interesting -- I'll assign this to the programmers, they'll look into it.

Today I deleted some test filters that were not useful.
The filters were in the same folder where I had useful filters too.
One or two times happened that FF was a little slow to relocate the filters after deletion.
This is what happened:
- I deleted a filter.
- Then I clicked on another filter that was below the previous one, to delete that filter too.
- As I said, FF was slow relocating the filters after deletion. My deletion request arrived before the relocation.
- FF relocated the filters, sliding the list of one position, and considered the wrong filter instead of the one I clicked.
- I got the usual warning message. I noticed it was the wrong filter, and it was fine.
But let's suppose that I didn't read the message well, or that the two filters had a very similar name and I clicked yes without understanding it was the wrong filter.
Then the filter would be gone without any chance to take it back.
Then, like uberzev said, wouldn't be better simply sending the file to the recycle bin?

Sorry that I do not know what you are suggesting to be done to make FF better

So it was good that FF did warn you before deleting the filter with the filter name that was wrong and you could decide not to delete it, but if you did not read it and did agree to delete it it would go the trash bin folder, and you could get it back if you. notice that it was the wrong filter unless you empty the trash bin

so, I am sorry that I do not understand that you are requesting that there is no warning when trying to delete any filter and go directly to the recycle or trash bin ?

When we delete a filter, the filter simply disappears from Filter Forge.
It doesn't go to Windows trash bin.
And there is no trash bin inside FF.
We get instead a message like the one below:

It may be enough.
But let's suppose that we delete a filter by mistake, or because of a FF error a filter gets deleted, or that we simply delete something and few minutes after we think "I still need it".
If the filter could be sent to the trash bin instead of simply disappearing, we would have a chance to take it back.

Oh! I understand now, the problem is that FF does NOT send the filter to the trash bin as it happens with most of the software, sorry that I was wrong thinking that the filters was sent to the trash bin, and this is why I did not understand it, now I know that I really never knew what happened to deleted filters until now.
I agree that the filters deleted should be sent to the trash bin instead of deleting them forever in case you delete it by mistake

Please, please please do this. I just accidentally deleted a filter I spent about 20 hours building. I came to the forum to see if there was a way to restore it. Guess not.
I was ready to submit it, but I got the "too many presets" warning. I deleted the extras, and went to submit it again and must have accidentally clicked the delete button. I feel sick. It was one of my best filters to date. I learned a lot of new "tricks" building it and solved some tough (for me) problems -- I don't know if I can recreate it again. I'll certainly never recreate the fabulous presets I had. Send it to the recycle bin as suggested, or add an undelete button.
And speaking of presets, here's another suggestion -- having an undo function on the update preset dialog would be great. There have been many times I've updated a preset I didn't want to update because the focus was on the wrong preset. Not as tragic as losing a filter you worked so hard on, but it gives you a sinking feeling just the same.
