FF has a lot of very useful tools, but it seems to be missing a fundamental tool, in my oppinion. The ability to make something glow. I have created a filter that does what I want ("angel" and it will be up by May 22nd if it is accepted) however if I try to integrate my filter into my other filters it takes insane amounts of time, and mind you my glow filter by itself takes 10 seconds. I think that a glow feature that uses direct coding would be a very useful tool, and it would be a lot quicker than have to implement my glow filter into my filters.
An example of the slowness of adding two filters together to achieve this glow effect can be seen in my updated Laser Building Blocks. Note, Laser Building Blocks will not be up and running until probablly the 22nd. Note, when I say glow feature I don't mean brightness, I mean a mystical radience coming from everything bright in the picture, here is an example.... If you are using the currently available version of Filter Forge, take note that it has some recently introduced performance deficiencies that may contribute to slow rendering time. These deficiencies will be fixed in the next update (the fix itself is already implemented, I estimate it is going to be submitted for release procedures in a few days).
