Direction of components connections.

Heh. I spent almost two weeks prototyping this. I did quite a lot of mockups, and the guys did a real working prototype with left-to-right links.

It just felt wrong. Not that I'm saying that the current right-to-left scheme is perfect and all, but the prototype just didn't feel right. I started to suspect that this feel was just because it was unusual to me after 1.5 years of right-to-left connections -- so I tried to drop my right-to-left customs, and worked only in the new prototype for a week.

To cut the long story short, I decided to keep the current scheme you see in the beta -- because to make left-to-right connections work, we would need to remove the Result component.

When I removed the Result component from the prototype, it felt just like writing. But with the Result component in the tree, it felt very, very unnatural -- the Result stays on the right, and you're building the component tree leftwards!

Yup!!!!! That is what I was talking about!!!! Please Add this option!!!! p p p p p p please. I didn't get to undestand why you said"because to make left-to-right connections work, we would need to remove the Result component.". Anyway, I'm not sure if what I'll say has some sence, but maybe you could make:

- The Result Componet floats like those sites where the menu follows you when scrolling the screen. So, when dragging the workarea the RC would follow the screen... or...
- The Result Componet would automatically move to right after each new node added... or...
- Better, we would pick with right click in the context menu an option "Add Result Component (Finish)". So, when you decide to apply a resul you just do It in the moment you want to.

Well, I'm not a developer, just suggestions.

I really hope the left-to-right would be implemented.

Still talking about that, other interesting stuff would be to get to drag and slide the Output (Big Green Arrow) all around the node and release in the position we want to. Well, not really needed, but would be interesting.

Congratulations Vlad and FF team for getting to solve that and for implementing it in the Filter Forge 1.004. Now I feel much better using left-to-right. For those that don't feel well working in that way, don't worry. It can be changed in Tools/Option/Filter Editor.
