(I'm sure this has been requested before but I couldn't find the thread, so here I go:)
I would like to have the option as an end user to choose between simple and surface filter with a checkbox. This either means two (or multiple) Result Components with a different type of "Switch' Component OR the ability to switch the MODE of the Result Component "on-the-fly" in the end user interface, not just the Editor. The latter sounds slightly easier to implement, but what do I know. One of the main reasons (many others exist) is that it would be WAY easier to implement "preview" modes (as Simple Filters) for Surface filters. The Simple filter MODE would just use the color input and ignore the rest. Result: faster previews for otherwise complex surface filters. |

This already exists, no? Go to Filter > Render Maps > Diffuse Map! ![]() ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

yup, this has been requested before.
but for me, the ideal would be to disconnect the height mode of the surface type and just make one filter type, but add all the functionality of the height/hdri stuff into a separate component that could be plugged in anywhere and more than once in a filter. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
