Unidirectional Motion Blur

By this I mean motion blur that only goes one way.

For example, if I have some blob: #

And do a motion blur on it, it ends up like: --==#==--

I would like a way to make it so the blur only goes one direction: --==#

This would be exceptionally useful for things like rust stains running down a surface and similar effects. Plus I feel that's how motion blur should work anyway. If objects are moving and creating a blur trail, they're generally only moving in one direction. A simple check box on the motion blur component for unidirectional blur would help immensely.

Yes, this is already on our list ('wind blur'). It didn't make it into 1.0 -- we were too busy with other things. One of the possible problems is the aliasing on the 'sharp end'.

+1 (btw, there is a bit of a work-around through masking, though it would have to be adjusted for each image worked on)

I was a bit confused about what this would be used for (since I avoid motion blur like the plague for the reason stated above) but then I read the bit about "rust stains" and now I get it. +1 for sure.
