As I further explore the realms of Filter Forge, I've found that there are a lot of useful filters out there - and there is a target market for this product. But how many folks are going to pay $200-$300 when they don't need all the functions?

Are you considering a FilterForge 'Light'? It wouldn't need any of the plugins for other applications, it would need to be able to save the image and import filters - but not edit filters. The settings page would be available, but customization would stop there. You could even specify filters that would work specifically with this version. I would even venture that this is the version FilterForge reverts to after the 30-day trial. If someone then paid for a full license, then the software would be upgraded accordingly. I'm thinking something along the lines of Photoshop CS2 vs Photoshop Elements here. A way to tap a bigger audience, plus add the incentive for audience participation on the filters. |

Fishfuzz, it's too early to think about editions yet -- we haven't even released the first one
