I just bumped into a need for a "greyscale" picker.....having the user interpolate greyscale tone from the color picker just isn't cutting the mustard smile;) smile:)

Which grayscale? There are several methods of converting color into gray:

Or, you can use a slider instead of a color picker -- just connect it into a color input.

8-bit (256) would work for my needs smile;) smile:)

I know that you can just use a slider.....but I was thinking that a more advanced "photo" user might want the picker.....

FF uses floating-point colors, so 8-bit won't work.

What's the point?

Well, it was more or less just for a more "professional" touch on some B&W filters I'm working on. I can certainly think of many other features that I would want before this smile:)

I was just looking for posts about the color picker and found this old one here. But since it's close to what i would like to add as a feature request I drop it here.

When I photo edit I use color picker a lot. Also when making textures btw. It just works a lot better then when I mimic a color myself and faster.

I especially thrill on being able to pick it from out of the program, but working with a imported reference would be great too.
