----I did a quick search for this topic/idea and didn't see it listed, although it may very well have come up before. To save render time, instead of having 2 modules doing the same thing, it would be nice to be able to put more than one line-in to a module. They can have as many outputs as you want it seems, but only one input, which seems awfully limiting in some cases. Am I missing something, or is this already a planned feature, or neither ?

Piping two or more images through the same operator is a common problem in node-based image processing. In many applications you are forced to make copies of the operator and wire the controls via expressions to make it manageable. Some apps allow operator instancing (eyeon Fusion, for example), conveniently propagating changes to parameters to all instances of a node. Others are built to allow the processing of more than the usual 4 image channels (RGBA) inside the same operator (as Nuke does). In these systems you can theoretically pipe hundreds of channels through a single operator. I might be erring here, but - apparently - Filter Forge components can only handle 4 channels (RGB and alpha). Therefore it is unlikely that we'll see multiple inputs per operator, unless the architecture gets a complete revamp. Rather, component instancing could be the way to solve the problem. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Hmm, well, I'll take your word for it, I have no idea about that side of it. Just throwing in one more vote for that feature, regardless of how they do it. Maybe in V2.0 if it's somehow more possible for them by then.
