some of these are repeats, so forgive me. i just wanted to consolidate things a bit. some are new.

1. it would be nice to have a 'download progress' bar when downloading filters. i just recently had to download all the filters again and waiting for 741 filters and then another 500+ in the other category made me wonder when things would be done.

2. when you first install and run FF, it would be nice to have a faster filter than the default mosaic filter by vladimir. it's a good filter, but has a somewhat slow rendering time in the default preset.

3. this is an old one: with 1300+ filters and more coming, i REALLY want an open file tree, at least in the 'my filters' area. i want to be able to add, alter, and delete folders to organize my work. and whereas i can see a bit of a problem having this in the library folders, i would love to see it there too. i mean, how are we going to handle this when we get to 10,000 filters? finding any given filter is going to get painful.

4. another old one: in the GUI, i'd like the ability to be able to close an open imported image without opening another.

5. in the GUI, i'd like a 'low res' or 'quick render' feature. sometimes all i want is to have a brief idea of what a filter does. i dont always want to spend a lot of time waiting for a given render before i move on. a 'quick render' would be just that, something that was like those dial-up accelerator things that minimize the resolution of images on web pages to speed up the dial-up loading of pages.

6. i'd like a feature in the editor that would essentially group a component's control components with the main component such that when you moved the component, the controls that belong to it would move also and keep their relative position to the main component.

7. another old one: in the plug-in mode, dont close the plug-in with one use.

8. add an 'autosave' feature to the editor. you'd probably have to have saved your work once to 'register' it, but the autosave would then save it every X minutes thereafter. this was inspired by my own lost work and someone else (CF or uberzev, i think) who lost their work recently.

9. another oldie: ghost the controls when that leg of the switch isnt turned on. either ghost it or dont even show it.

interesting what you notice when you have to re-install a program smile:)
