Batch Settings Changes to Presets

i thought i used to know how to do this, and maybe someone does, in which case the devs can disregard this. what i want to do is, when i edit a filter, particularly if i change it from a simple to a surface, i want to change settings to ALL the presets on maybe one or two controls, most often the 'Height' control. most of us have realized by now that if you set the Height control on a surface filter to zero, that it's exactly the same then as if it were a simple filter. so, especially now, with the new upgrades, i'm going back and changing quite a few of my simples to surfaces. i'd like to be able to hit one button or slider or something and have ALL of the presets in the new filter be set to a certain value for a certain control, again, most often the height control.

and, like i said, if this already exists, could someone inform me, please?
