Ability to modify defaults for new components in edit view

For example if you add perlin noise it always comes as roughness: 20, contrast: 25. It would be great if you could modify these defaults.

This can be implemented as "component presets" -- for example, you could right-click a component and save it and all its settings into a named component preset, which is placed into a separate category in the Components bar.

Can't remember exactly, but I think this is already on our plan, most likely on low priority.

Bump!

Are the default values stored in an XML file somewhere (like the curve presets)?

I'd really like to change default settings on quite a few components smile;-)

(though some of the new RGB Math components actually seem to be configured for likely use.. thanks for that)

I've been used to the current defaults for so long, changing them now would totally mess me up..... smile;) smile:D LOL.....

One think I really hate is connecting a Checkbox to a Switch, where the default for checked is 8, and unchecked 5, why? why? Why not 1 & 2, would save me hours (yes I an a swicthoholic - I admit"
