Hey guys, this has probably been mentioned before (possibly by me as well), but it's probably worth bringing up again anyway. I imagine it would be a relatively simple fix(?).

Anyway, I almost always work in base 8 and the Bricks module has always caused me issues with my textures lining up with the same grid. It might be nice to be able to set the base to 2, 3, and 5. I'm surprised this hasn't been added by now. The current version only really benefits someone working in base 12, which I imagine would be the least popular.

Right now I can just scale Y, which isn't bad. Scaling X would break tiling.

Can you post an example of a filter exhibiting the texture issue?

Here's an image:

Hopefully that will describe it well enough! If not, I also attached a filter that just uses the scale component rather than my lookup. I just preferred it to be more visual. smile:)

Ideally there would be a 4th drop down in between Fill Mode and Repeat to set the number of vertical bricks (in 1 repeat) to 4, 5, and 6.

Sorry I wasn't very clear in my first message, just noticed. smile:D

If you just need a traditional brick pattern, you can use the tiles component and check "Row Shift". Then you can have bricks in multiples of 2 (which is much more useful since most texturing/alignment in games, etc. is with powers of 2).

I think in general there's a frustrating lack of control when it comes to the repeat option. For example in tiles; why does repeat 1 actually make 2?

But like jitspoe said there are workarounds.

Another option is to connect to a scale component and stretch to fit your needs.

The Tile idea will actually work. I didn't think of that, thanks. smile:beer: Scaling works well too. There's some vertical squishing of the mortar and brick bevel, but it's hardly noticeable.

I just thought it was funny that while most people using 3D apps work with grids based on 10 and 8 (UE3 and others use it by default, it's what I prefer), and Bricks does neither. smile:D
