Now the Beta 3.0 have included the very good and well done progressive preview, but the problem is that the previews does not fill the screen, and do not fit the available screen size, and there is only TWO preview sizes, actual and reduced.

Please, I want to suggest if it would be possible in some way to put more preview sizes than only having Actual (which is 100% real size) and Reduced which is a much reduced version in low resolution (600x600)

You could do the previews as you want and as you think it could be best, I here i will put just an example of what could be perhps usefuk and good.

I suggest for example to add 3 levels in the middle, wich I tink is not too much to ask, so it would be possible in some way to have a more wider choice options in the preview sizes.

5 instead of just 2

Reduced - very low resolution as is now already shown (600x600) NOW AVAILABLE
25% of the resolution of the image
50% of the resolution of the image
75% of the resolution of the image
Actual - 100% - Real image you will get when final rendering NOW AVAILABLE

I think this is would be very useful and interesting

I really do not know how difficult and complicated can this be to add this feature of 5 levels to FF and what amount of work would be needed, but seeing that I think that the Filter Forge Team are expert programmers, they could be able to find a middle solution to this.

Why I am asking for more preview sizes ?

Because in some filters that are quick and renders and previews quickly is not very important (although it would be useful too), but what happens with very intensive and complex filters and large resolution images as base source ?

I have tried using 12 Megapixel photos 4288x2848 pixels and in some filters it works fast enough, but on some filters is very difficult to use the Actual preview because it is really very very slow and would take some many minutes even to show the first part of the image.

I love some photo filters that apply a simple photo effect and are very fast, BUT the problem is that to see what it looks like, you have no choice other than REDUCED (which does not really see all the small details of the photo effect at only 600x600 and much less in a very high resolution monitor) and ACTUAL that gives you perfect view of all the details BUT you can´t see the whole thing, and only a small part of the total.

USING VERY HIGH RESOLUTION MONITORS AND REDUCED VIEW

Now the resolution of the monitors have raisen a lot and are much cheaper.

BUT the problem is that even when you get a bigger screen the resolution makes things smaller. So what looked very good when we still had monitors of 1024x768 and a 800x600 could be seen well, now that many monitors have 1950x1200 or 2560x1440, a 800 x 600 photo is nearly lost in the screen, and a 600 x 600 reduced preview is also very small to see well things.

I am using now a monitor with 1680 x 1050.

Sorry, I put again this thread here because in the previous thread I did not put it well and mixed up the things and made it much wrong, so now here I want to do it right.
