I have seen that there has been a great and high activity of many users contributing for this topic in December 2012 shown in this thread, and now we are near October 2013 and there has not been anymore news if the FF team is still working on this or not.
Sorry Skybase to keep beating this topic with a stick, but is curious that there has been a lot of interest in december, and already 9 months after there is nothing more news or any other thing. Lock Controls On Randomize |

As now FF 4.0 has been already released as final version and regretably this has not been included
![]() ![]() Why this has not been included????? I wonder if: Could be included in a possible update to FF 4.0? Or will we have to wait another year more until FF 5.0? |

Ray, did you never read the post where they said that it would not be included in FF 4?
Tip for life: Just because you want something and keep nagging about it 10 times a day, doesn´t mean you will get it. ![]() Edit: As much as I want that feature, let them work out all the bugs on the three major features they did include first ![]() And here is a workaround for you until they add control locks: Open the editor, disconnect the control you want locked, set the value you want, save filter as a copy and spam the randomizer button ![]() |

lol I'd put it in positive light: means there's more to look forward to in the future.
But I swear man... I've seen this (and similar posts) get all the bumping like madness. It's overly discussed, bumped, and I'm pretty sure it's quite understood that this is a highly anticipated feature. Quit whining about the things that didn't happen or doesn't happen, you'd be asking why why why all the time. Get creative with what you got, don't just sit there whining. And I know the reasons why you want it so bad! ![]() ![]() aside that as Shar said, there are workarounds for now. It won't suit you 100% but it works. |

Well, Yes, I have never seen any post where it was told that it would not be included in FF 4.0, I have searched in the forum and have not been able to find it, please, could you tell where is it, thanks. If I did know that it was told that it was not going to be included I would have not continued asking.
I would not bother if they are going to include it later for FF 4.0, but until now in 7 years they have never included a new feature after the final release, only in the beta stage of the next version.
Well I agree that this may work only for me and for my own filters, but: What happens when developing and making a new filter to be submitted to the library? THIS is the real and main reason I want to have available for everyone the randomizer control locks If I add adjustments controls to the filter it will nearly "destroy" the randomizer and the use of the "next variant" button. And this is only one of the many examples I could give for having the randomizer locks |

Answer to Sharandra above this post
I forgot to tell above that your workaround to the missing locks makes that a filter downloaded from the FF library looses the author it´s own usage rank rewards as the filter is converted to another custom filter that is not related any more to the FF library, and I want to keep the hard works of the author of the filter as much as I can
OH!! When you have said this it remembers me to the Monty Python - Always Look on the Bright Side of Life lyrics OK ![]()
YES, you are right, there is no point in keep whining and feeling bad because this did not happen, and also is not needed to know why it did not happen as this is not going to make it happen. I agree with you and thanks for your good side of life
YES, this is very good and very true suggestion and good words, and I agree, is better to see what are the tools that we already have and make things with this NOW.
THE PROBLEM I see is that it has been already 7 YEARS since this has been requested many times by many FF users and is available in many threads in all these years but it seems that Vladimir thinks it is still a low priority feature. When last year by this date there was a lot if interest in this I thought that they were going finally to do it |
