We need the old system back, where we would send the filter, and they would render the images. The problem is that we have to wait forever to post a filter, waiting for each preset to render. This is a bad idea, and I for one have been deterred from posting filters because of this. My guess is if filterforge could render the presets for us, we would see a lot more filters than we do now. Haloo! Enjoy this page while you're here! xD

I'm not sure I understand how things have changed.

I do not think that this is the reason because for me the rendering of the 9 presets needed only takes a few seconds to render the 9 presets, so I do not know how you can say that it takes forever for each preset to render. Could it be that you have a very old and slow computer ?

uberzev, from what I understand the submition wizard did'nt always render the presets on the user's machine before submittin to the library. It used to be that you just send the filter, and the server did the rendering.
SpaceRay, some filters take a few minutes to render, even on new and fast machines. Imagine having 9 presets or more, + render maps that each could take 6 minutes to render, that's easily more than an hour of preset rendering for the submittion wizard.

Can't you just render them while you sleep?

This would mean automatic rejection of your filters because of speed. If the presets take long to render on a modern home computer the library server would refuse to render them at all

Think speed rejection is aa good idea...but the old usage system should be re-employed to let filters stand on their own usefulness/merits... Steve

I don't. There can be amazing filters made that simply cannot be optimized any further.
Imagine a filter that uses a script. No matter how optimized you get the code and the components, scripts are slow.
Again, you can't reject filter because of speed and at the same time offer no solutions to make things go faster.
I do agree that alot of filters (Including mine) could use a bit of performance optimization.
