FF Clipboard Import and Export outside the app

I was considering writing some 'helper' apps to make some things easier in FF, but run into the problem that FF doesn't apparently import or export clipboard content outside the application. I am talking here particularly of the components.

Any chance of exposing the clipboard outside the app?

What this could be useful for:

One could copy a component with its settings, and then paste it into a helper 'library' application that would hold one's own default settings for components.

Or, one could copy a whole group (of components) into that library app, that could thereafter be used as building blocks for future filters.

Or, one could come up with different methods of inputting (think 'text', 'vector', 'position') and then copying that information into an FF component via the clipboard.
