we need a "like" button for each and every post in the forums. i dont always want to comment, but sometimes, like in facebook, i just want to acknowledge quickly.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I find "like" buttons useless and misleading unless there is also a "Dislike" button.

Yes I agree that it could be useful, but it depends on how the forum has been built, and this could also help perhaps to promotion more FF

I disagree with the notion of "downvotes". It's like an anonymous "slap the person" button that you can hit just for any reason. Any dislike button to me sounds doesn't contribute to a conversation given it can be interpreted in anyway. For example, a dislike can mean "Your information is accurate, but it's not in the right forum" or "You probably should fix spelling and grammar" or "your information is confusion" or "That was awful" or "What a waste of time" or "Please quit existing, your post was worthless." or "I'm just hitting this button because I feel like it." And negativity in general goes pretty deep. I know the same can be said in opposite but this forum needs positive encouragement for things worthy and critique, not anonymous denial.

Likes only go as far as what's positive which feels a bit nicer than feeling torn by a -2 sign sitting next to a thread.
