My idea is that when a slider is in a position where it's setting is so low that it contributes nothing to the filter result, then the processes it controls should not be executed. This will be under the control of the filter designer who can either implement this or not.

Like the switch component, only for slider controls. We could use this feature to decrease our filters' render times. Not sure how it would be applied in general, but here's a specific case for the blend component. (it's a little hard to see, compare the render times)
Similar feature request: The blend component ignores foreground input when opacity is zero. (I thought it did already, oops!) Control Threshold.ffxml |

It would apply to any filter where a slider is used to add and increment an effect. Like my Sketch and Color filter. There are five different color effects. If the user only wants to apply one of them, it wastes time to have the other ones executing.
