I don't know if this has been brought up before or not but I was wondering...
If, when you look at the preview, there's this "Show Original" check box, is there any way we could "tone down" the filter's effect, sort of like a transparency-opacity slider bar. That would be sooooo COOL!

Just a suggestion here and keep up the great work!

So basically a "wet" and "dry" slider? That's not a bad idea frankly.

Currently the only way of dealing with this is to just use the blend component.

I feel that this "transparency-opacity" slider would be great because not everyone is skilled at creating filters or even editing current filters (like me). This would be great for future Filter Forge buyers who might be intimidated by the Filter Editor when first starting out (like me).

Plus, if no one has an objection, I feel this "Effect Slider" would be really helpful if placed on the settings tab at the bottom, unless someone could think of a more intuitive place to put it.

Maybe, someone will hear my wish. Oh, I WISH I WISH I WISH for a "transparency-opacity" slider (anybody got a golden Aladdin's lamp we could rub?)! smile8)

I contacted FF directly and they told me to use the Color Picker. It has an alpha slider. That's great...

except...

The color picker seems to be available only for filters with a color swatch (which most filters don't have a swatch). And...when there is a swatch the alpha slider is usually grayed out (deselected) and we can't use it.

I CAN create layers in Xara Designer Pro (which is the software I use) but it is time consuming. However, I still think an alpha (transparency-opacity) slider on the settings tab is available at all times for everyone to use.

Just sayin'.

Man, I sound whinny don't I? (sorry) smile8)
