Proper GUI batch tools INSIDE FF itself = instant FF5 upgrade

In october 2012 there has been this thread as suggestion for FF 4.0

Proper batch tools = instant FF4 upgrade

I need the ability to point filter forge at a folder of images and have it apply the current filter settings to every image and render that out, perhaps in a different render target folder.

I want to do one, or several passes on a folder. Ie, an image sequence (rendered animation) or a bunch of resources for other use. Ideally FF could be told to do multiple passes on the same folder rendering out multiple images as a result of each process ie. filter1 + settings, filter2 + settings results in 2 rendered image files with the original left intact in its original location.

Give me a proper GUI interface to pic folders and filter settings, not a command line.

I made a monster (long) post (as said by Skybase) as an answer to be able to find alternative way to do it

But we are now on near July 2015 (nearly 3 years after) and I think that this may deserve to be included in FF 5.0

External patches may be good, BUT I think that would be much better to include this batch process already by default INSIDE the main GUI interface of filter forge and not as an external or additional thing

Using the Command Line renderer, abs´s FF Batch GUI (or any other one available), or Photoshop actions for making batch process in FF is not enough I think, because:

1 - The Command Line renderer is NOT at all easy to use and is more for people that are used to use this kind of things and coding, and I think also that is a very old way to do things

2 - Aba´s FF Batch GUI - Although using aba´s tool may be good would be really much better to have this same tool by default INSIDE filter forge and make everything inside the main GUI of FF

aba´s FF Batch GUI for Windows is very good, awesome and amazing way to use the command line renderer with a very good and well done GUI, and has many different options, BUT as the name tells you, is ONLY for Windows, although Totte and other author seems to have another similar tool

3 - Photoshop Actions - For using batch process of FF with Photoshop actions, obviously you need to own Photoshop, and not everyone has it, so again, it would be good that this would be only an OPTIONAL thing for only the ones that has already photoshop, and even then I think that making the batch process INSIDE filter forge would be even better and easier.

So I hope and wish that Vladimir may consider and think about adding this batch process to FF 5 so then we are not forced to use any external too or way to be able to do this, and would be easier, friendlier and better

I understand it was not included in FF 4, but I think now it could be possible for FF 5 and as said on the title, I think that having this feature may increase the number of upgrades to be sold

Thanks

I still think that it would maybe be easier, friendlier, and useful to have the batch process to be INSIDE filter forge without using ANY external plugin, or external part

For anyone that owns photoshop here is a possible way to batch process images with filter forge

From this link text

Photoshop is certainly component in image editing which cannot be skipped, but some things can be done faster if you have tool optimized for some specific task like to work with image contrast (Topaz Clarity is an example). If you ask me which plugin to use then I can recommend you Filter Forge which is all-in-one plugin

And also I have found this other one

Batch Editing and Automated Processing in Photoshop

Yeah, but FF crashes my PS 2015 (as well as CS2) so I can't do batch there.

I agree 100% over the need for a batch process for FF. I don't mind command line stuff, though, so I'll look to see how to do that, but for the vast majority of folks it really ought to be part of this program (at least the Pro version, for which folks are paying big bucks for added functionality).

YES! This is exactly what I think, not everybody feels right and good using command line, or even using the well done GUI based version by aba, I believe that there is a majority that would prefer much better to use the batch INSIDE filter forge itself, as it happens already in many other graphic software available in 2015

Sorry, I have now realized and noticed that I have done badly this thread, because I forgot to really tell the MAIN and most important point and difference between using Command Line tools and have it inside Filter Forge software and is a reason above all of what I told and why I am telling to include it inside of FF itself

The main reason to include Batch Process INSIDE Filter Forge itself is
to have a PREVIEW of the result (even if it was in low res

In Command Line is not possible to have any Preview because obviously does not have a GUI do it, and also because is needed to RENDER it before the preview can be seen, filter forge software solves this making a 600x600 preview and then when you are ready and satisfied with the result then you can render the final result, and this could be the same for the batch process INSIDE filter forge

And if you are going to use Batch Process to mix two filters with an image this is surely more needed to have preview on how it will look the result
