Please Render Faster!

Render times are typically very slow.
At other times times it is very very very slow.

As soon as the render button is clicked FF becomes a Background Processes.
Not sure if this is relevant.

In Task Manager:
CPU around 10%
Memory around 18%

Is this typical?

I run Windows 10 64 bit.
Xeon W3690 and 12 GB RAM.
FF 5 is up to date.

YES! YES YES YES, I totally and absolutely agree that FF 6.0 should made faster now that it is 64 bit

On photo effects and simple filters is usually faster, but not on most of the filters

I haven't used Windows 10 or know anything about your CPU model, but common sense: If you are rendering a complex filter / large image, Filter Forge should be using all available processing power (CPU usage should read ~100%) if you allow it to.

Make sure Filter Forge is set to use all available cores (Filter Forge -> Options -> Rendering Tab).

Previously I was tweaking FF for quicker rendering and someone had mentioned that FF was not multi-core capable so I set it at single core.

I just followed your suggestion and now on one attempt I do believe that the rendering was faster. It rendered around 95%. Thanks a lot!
