Request of a simple component with just a line of text, so it would be something very easy to do, like the checkbox component, but without the checkbox
This is somehing that has already been requested before in other threads in the forum (see below) When making a filter that can have for example 3 excluding parts, that each part has their own exclusive settings that only work when this part is activated or sel ected, but the problem comes when you have to separate these settings fr om each other so that the user does not get confused I feel that there is really missing a very simple and easy to add SEPARATOR COMPONENT so this can be used to mark areas in the settings , it can be a text based line, so you can use either dashes to make a line, or put text to divide and name a settings part so it could be more easier to a FF user identify the possible different parts of the settings that may be excluding Will search for the other related topic threads available in the forum as this has been already requested many times |

But... this has been suggested multiple times already... [1][2][3][4] ... and it's also on the Feature Wishlist, so there's really no need to start additional topics on it. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

As far as I know I am NOT requesting something that is difficult and hard to implement and add
As I told on the first post I knew that it was already requested, but as you can see well in the link it was already requested since 2008, 8 YEARS AGO! and something as simple as this is STILL NOT AVAILABLE in 2016!!
Well, in the Feature Wishlist there are a HUGE list of things featured, but I see that in each new version of FF, there is none or very little included of this list, and I made this thread, because as far as I know it would not take much work to make a simple text line as a component and do not have to do much work, when it is already done the checkbox component that is very similar Maybe for 2040 there could be added many more things of the feature wishlist ![]() ![]() |

Please, do consider adding this feature to FF 7, as it would be really useful and helpful for designing better filter in a organized and cleaner way, and you could make groups inside the settings
As far as I know his is not at all difficult to make as it is ONLY a simple text component that will not get in the way of the filter flow How to add it to the filter? Well it could be added simply by add it to any part of the filter as a pass through component. The controls for moving this to he desired position are already created and available now on the custom component controls list, so there is no need to add anyhting additional |

I like this too. Anything to help subsection controls in the UI to tidy things up a bit is always nice to have. A way to extend this and make it a bit more useful is to have the Separator Component also show or hide the items it separates if it is clicked. That way you can hide settings you don't care about by clicking the Separator Component above them. Hidden sections would have a tiny "[+]" button, and visible sections would have a tiny "[-]" button. For example here's the normal view showing 2 Separator Components in their default state: [-] Foreground Effects Foreground Color Foreground Transparency [-] Background Effects Background Color Background Transparency Here's 1 Separator Component clicked so it's section is hidden, with another not clicked: [-] Foreground Effects Foreground Color Foreground Transparency [+] Background Effects Here's all sections hidden: [+] Foreground Effects [+] Background Effects |

I have been already waiting for this 6 years, and there is still no news that it will be included in FF 7, and do not know why is not done, because as far as I know is not something somcomplex and difficult to do, is just a separator line component, and is something really useful and very helpful

I wonder why this feature is still not included, when this has been requested many times since really 10 YEARS ago in 2008
Will this be included in FF 8.0 ? I do not understand why something that would be really very helpful and useful for lots of users is not yet included and is not known when is going to be added |

Sorry to bump this again and I am sorry that I do not understand why in already 10 YEARS since this was suggested is still not available, this should be really simple to add, is the same than the Checkbox, but without the checkbox mark that appears on settings.
I do not think that there is any technical problem adding this to the components So I wonder why is still not available? If this would be something that would need much code to do and would require much work I would understand it, but as said this is already done in the Checkbox control that you put the text you want and ONLY is needed to remove the Checkbox that appears in settings And if you ask how to use it, well, a FF user can be able to connect this new component to the Switch component and then use it in the Order of controls |
