I'm impressed with the seamless tiling and all, but why on earth does the standalone version insist on using obscure resolutions like 600, 300, 120, etc? You should be able to use 1024, 512, 256 and other power of two sizes. It looks like filter forge was designed with game development in mind, and any 3D graphics API is going to prefer (or require) power of two texture sizes, so this kind of baffles me. Anyway, my suggestion is to make it possible to generate 512 and 1024 pixel images from the standalone application.

You can use any size you want. Try File > New Image.

You can generate images in any resolution, up to 65535 x 65535 pixels. Use File > New Image and File > Open commands to set the resolution. This is by far the most popular question about Filter Forge, so the release version will include a balloon popup to let people know about these commands. The Size values (600, 300, 120 etc) you're seeing are dependent on a filter -- if a filter uses pattern-based components, the Size slider moves in discrete increments (600, 300, 150 etc). If a filter is built without discrete components, the Size slider moves smoothly and you can set any value. Here's a help article on this: http://www.filterforge.com/more/help/...lters.html Also, seamless tiling works on non-square textures as well. Example of a discrete filter: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/243.html Example of a non-discrete filter: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/215.html |

Ah, thanks for the clarification. File|New Image was exactly what I needed.
