Apparently, there is a perlin noise 'under the hood' of the Noise Distortion component. I was wondering whether it would make sense to extend this to the worley noises as well. Might be a lot slower, but could be handy...

Yes, we use Perlin for Noise Distortion (see its help for details on the algo). As for Worleys, you can easily assemble such a distorter using two Worleys with different random seeds and Offset.
