My apologies if this has been suggested before, but I was wondering if module Area Grouping has been discussed before? I'm not exactly sure what to call it so I may have not been able to pick if up from earlier threads.
For example, a tool is used to draw a faint translucent rectangle which is then labeled. Any modules and their related controls that are dragged and dropped into it become part of a new group that can all be dragged at once for increased workflow (Alternatively, multiple modules can be selected and linked into a group that way).
Each group also would have the option of dividing the Filter Controls into sub-categories depending on the group label, so for example, an inferno like filter would have Group A labelled as Fire and Group B labeled as Smoke and have their respective controls (Like Fire Color, Smoke Direction, etc) appear under their names in the Filter Controls (Manually controlled by dragging the controls into the Area Group), so users can indentify those two seperate elements easier for more intuitive control. I believe this would be handy for complicated filters that require multiple modules that form different parts of the complete package.
Another idea for groups is to have one control unit altering the factor of all applicatable parameters within a group, such as scale controlling any noise related modules in a Group Area, although my imagination tells me that most filters would require a bit more fine tuning, but I think in a small scale sense, it would prove quite effective for synching up multiple similar modules quickly! ~^_^~ Am I just day-dreaming or would you believe such a notion could be of value? Thank you.
