I would like to have redistributable libraries/engines for Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android to produce the FilterForge bitmaps procedurally in my applications.

Something like what the old Substance Designer Engine used to do?
That could be cool. Could be super heavy on the application and hardware usage too depending on the filter or filters used though. Would be difficult to pull that off most likely. Basically it would be a stripped-down portable/embeddable version of FF so I'm not sure how easily that could be done. Also to have it available on all those platforms depending on what was required to pull it off at all may not be possible. It would be cool though. Substance retired their engine offering a few years ago at least. Now it's just an embedded option in partner products like Unity or Unreal Engine but anyone not using those products has no real options for integrated generative bitmap art aside from doing it themselves from scratch maybe. So, it could fill a void in the dev market in that regard. Not sure how many other people seek such things though. Seems like something that isn't considered vital or very important to most devs. I'd probably use it though. Especially if it could be implemented into C# applications and games fairly easily. The Substance Engine was C++ which is not as easy to make use of or integrate into C# unless it has some means to do so already, which it didn't. So, if they did do this I would add that it should come with an easy means of utilizing it through C#. |

Sorry, a redistributable engine is not going to appear. A possible solution is to bundle the entire Filter Forge with your application, then call the command-line renderer with the required parameters.
