Often, I find myself using 3 or 4 filters cyclically in Filter Forge. I can put them in my Favorites list, but that's getting rather long.
![]() Also, it'd be handy to have a brief search field within Filter Forge which searches all the filters you currently have; that'd help find something without having to dig into a category and scroll through the alphabet. I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures |

Currently - as far as I know - there is no way.
This could be as simple as having a 'Recent' category similar to 'My Filters' that always contains the last X used filters. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Right click, *locate filter*, that opens the folder they are all in, then select *details* (in the folder itself, Windows thinger up top), and click on date modified/created, to find the latest ones you were working on (making), or modified. I don't know if you can choose folder properties to find the order of files accessed/used, maybe you can do that too, never tried. Partial solution for ya maybe.

@Crapadilla: The implementation you suggested is the same as what I'm thinking!
@jffe: Thanks, that unfortunately isn't so integrated, but at least it's something to go on. I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures |

the best way to find filters right now is with the 'download more filters' button in the gui. that gives you the most views of filters in slightly bigger than a standard thumbnail.
and yes, filter searching and organizing is one of my pet peeves right now too and has been discussed quite a bit. user made folders for organizing, a filters 'page' rather than a tiny little box in the upper left corner and some other things with searching have been discussed. and it's going to get worse before it gets better. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

@Kraellin: Thanks for your thoughts.
Along the same lines, I'd like a way to view personal stats of your most-used filters. That'd help determine what should end up in Favorites, and what could be removed. With so many filters, it sure gets easy to clutter things up by downloading oodles of new filters, but never end up using them. I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures |

well, ideally, FF would used a tabbed page system for all of this. click on one tab for the gui and there ya go, click on another to view, review, search and organize filters (including making your own folders) and there ya go, and another tab to do all the downloads and uploads. simple, and saves space in all the various tabs.
