It would be nice if the categories directly under the components button were color coded to the output color.

For eg. if you're building a filter and you see that you need a node for a blue input, it would be nice to quickly and visually see which category you need to click in the list.

Can I just add that I'm blown away with this thing? It's way more powerfull than I thought it would be.

I'm a 3d artist and on a daily basis I push photoshop to it's limits, but in my opinion 99% of (add on) PS filters are sub-par. This is a definite exception.

One of our prototypes had color-coded categories (a little colored square near the text), but we scrapped them -- they looked too noisy. Currently, the separators in the list serve the same purpose -- the categories are grouped by their "color".

I know this is from 2006 and I will not get an answer from buck smile:D but does this mean that you could change the color link of the component so the linking would be of that color, or is that each component category would have a color?

It looks too noisy ? Do you mean that having the links of the components in different colors would be like a tangled mess? with all green is also a mess I think.

I think that now that they are all green is perhaps more mess, but as this has been already this way in the past 5 years, I think is does not matter much, and now with groups would be more tidy and cleaner.
