Filter Saves and Loads

since i know this is being worked on somewhat, i wanted to get this idea submitted quickly.

it occurred to me recently that there is really little need to keep the filters on our harddrives. sure, we have to download them somewhere, but there's really no need to keep them there. how bout if the entire library, favorites, various caches and thumbs and my filters could all be saved to an RW cd or dvd and used from there? i'm mostly talking about the stuff that is in docs and settings, but even the stuff in program files could be also, if it's a data file.

there's no real reason data files shld have to be stored on the harddrive. i would love to be able to move the whole library off onto a cd or dvd and load it from there when needed.

yes, i know we're always downloading more filters and that downloading and writing to a cd all in one operation might not even be possible, but that's ok. i'm willing to take that extra step of writing to a cd myself and just updating that cd once in a while as the filter list grows.

now, i'm pretty sure someone submitted the idea of being to place the favorites and my filters somewhere other than where they already are and letting the user place them where he wants, so this is basically just an extension of that idea. putting them on a cd, dvd, external drive and even a thumb drive, would save some harddrive management problems and ensure a little more safety in the event of a crash.
