Yes, we considered offering a larger discount to teachers and classes, but there was a problem -- namely, how do we confirm that a person is actually a teacher, not just someone who claims to be a teacher to get the discount? Is there a centralized publicly-accessible place, a website perhaps, that lists persons currently employed in the education system or something like this? |

I am actually starting my student teaching come this next school year, and as teachers we have teaching licenses which would be able to be used as proof that indeed we are teachers, and with such license numbers that I am sure you are able to check on a public database to confirm authenticness of the teacher. Also the various schools have different identifiers to prove that they are indeed schools and not some punks trying to get cheap software. I am not sure of all the details as of yet, but as I enter into student teaching I will for sure let you know what kind of concrete identifiers exist to insure that those claiming educational pricing are indeed educators. |

yes, students often have student id's. there are also enrollment verifications with dates. there's no truly perfect way to verify these things. even photo copies of such can be faked or duplicated and with photoshop i could probably just make one. but, adobe and some of the other big shops do offer edu discounts, so apparently it can be done.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
