Well, the title says it all. Animation and animate it all! the parameters, the bitmaps (using movie files instead of pictures)...
Of course it'll be mostly usefull if the plugin will be provided for after effects, combustion, 3dmax etc. etc... The you'll be able to synchronise much easier |

By the way, in case you enter the animation business, you can build modules that react to sound... or sound inputs...

Hear hear.
I agree 110%. Tried to start a thread to drum up support for animation features. Vlad makes a good point though, and I wouldn't mind waiting at all for FilterForge's version of a AfterEffects/Shake/Combustion plugin. The possibilities are just endless (especially for games and cinematics when it's time to save on resources). ANIMATE! -Nicholas |

Yep, animation, and possibility of using as procedural shaders in 3d programs is the end of my wishes.

I would kill to be able to set a start and end values for any perimeters, and the number of desired steps, and have it automatically render and save the whole sequence. I'm sure you'd sell a TON of copies of FF to After Effects, Final Cut, etc. users. A TON!

Animation _needs_ to be in Filter Forge! It's such a huge waste to have a phenomenal program like this and lacking such an important feature.
I know it's somwehat possible with scripting but for accessability and usability, this needs to be a core feature. |

filter forge does have a batch renderer that can be used for animation. and, one of the users here, sjeiti, made his own gui for doing batch rendering of filters, including the setting of parameters for various switches. see this thread: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...5&TID=6133 . i dont recall if the web site listed in the first post is still good or not, but i know somewhere in that thread is a working link to his stuff. a number of pretty cool animations have been done and posted on this site. heck, i even did a primitive one of my waterfall filter.
i know very little of the built-in batch renderer. i think it's command line only right now. sjeiti's has a gui and is fairly easy to use. that's the one i used to make mine. bear in mind, guys, that filter forge is an ongoing project. it's still fairly new. i believe animation has been talked about before. i forget what was said, however, so you'll have to do your own searches to find out more. we havent even seen all the features for beta 3 yet and we already know an FF4 is planned and i believe a 5, so vladimir is looking and planning. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

It's yet very limited, a looping animation isnt really possible to create, well except for making it go forward then back again. Animation doesnt seem to have any priority which is kind of disapointing, i'd rather have a functioning animation feature than the stuff i've seen presented for FF3 so far.

I have registered just to post this wish of mine.
Pretty please for animation! As game artists, I would love to have animation support in FF. With great expectations I have downloaded FF3 beta, but couldn't find anything animation related. For me that unfortunately means going back to Genetica. I really would love to use FF (much better and cleaner interface), but I really need animation. When searching for animation related topics, I have found a post from FF employe saying that animation is done via shaders these days in games, not always and I think it will never be completely the case. |
