Hi everybody,

after playing a while with the editor two things I would like came up:

1. grouping of components as a kind of subroutine, that is shown in one subroutine box, with all the inputs and the one output displayed.

2. The final output shown on the left upper side in the editor should be chooseable to any component (subroutine) independent of the actual editor activies. I.E. when I adjust one slider I still would like to see the results in the choosen component not in the actual slider and so on.

3. An other fine thing (optional) would be online-hints (e.g. when connection components) and regarding to speed matters (e.g. this component will be very slow - maybe in a sort of diagramm that shows the approx. slow-down effect).

I think this would improve work a lot.

Double click on the title bar of the component, and it's output image will be fixed in the preview box, independent of which component you are editing.

Not only the title bar -- just double-click anywhere on the component body. You can also press Enter, or check the "Lock Preview" checkbox above the preview area on the left.

Exactly. The majority of filters we had to reject had the speed problem. We'll definitely include the component speed hints into Filter Forge.

Yes, this is also on our list, along with the tree zoom -- this will help authors manage filter complexity.
