right now, we can name all controls for the filter user except for switches, which are mapped with checkboxes or intsliders, which leaves a lot of guesswork in the end about what exactly will happen when the value is changed. it would be great to be able to assign a label to each value in a switch, and let those values be selected with a drop-down menu.
for example, if i wanted to map one of several textures to a picture frame - wood, stone, plastic, or chrome - i could put these four into a switch and call them such, then the user could choose the desired texture in the settings tab. of course it'd be even better if controls could be contextual, such that choosing 'wood' would show different controls than choosing 'plastic' or 'stone'. but perhaps i'm complicating the situation... |

----Just use an *int slider*, and you can label it like wood-stone-plast-chr, or WoodStonePlastChrome. We all are used to how it works, and you can just add in the filter description how it works if you're worried about anyone new not understanding how it works. ![]() jffe Filter Forger |

This has been discussed on the forums. See 'list controls' on the feature wishlist archive.
Personally, I'd like to see list controls too as they would make many filters more intuitive. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |
