Ok so i had this idea that is possibly a crazy one but would be amazing IMO if it's possible, basically in the suggest a filter thread i had a go at making the effect that the plugin machine wash does, my attempt however even though useful IMO doesn't look as natural as the plugin -

So basically i had this idea that seeing how FF is a photoshop plugin as well as standalone, then maybe we could have a photoshop brush selector module (also possible with a multi image loader/storer), so then when used along side a partical type spreader module (if added also) basically you could get exactly the same effect/more natural version of what i did with it along with many other cool uses for textures, because looking at the main version effect to me it looks like randomly placed/rotated brushes/images. So yeah 2 modules that i think have already been requested but i don't think a module which uses brushes in your library was requested yet, you could also have other PS elements maybe, and of course these would just be available in the plugin version so not to cause confusion although you could have a loader version in the standalone so people could use freebies from the web etc as theres lots available now days. smile:D

Sorry to say this, but I seriously doubt that at least _public_ version of Adobe Photoshop SDK allows such things. Can't check at the moment, since I don't have the SDK installed on my home machine, but if I recall correctly there is no support for brush plugins in there. There _might_ be such support in the SDK version for Adobe solution partners, but it is not available to us.

I don't think this is supported even in the newer SDKs. The latest announcement related to plugins was the support for plugins as adjustment layers (called 'Live Filters or something like that).

Also, the legal side of the newer Photoshop plugin SDKs is a bit more complicated. This is one of the reasons why we are still using the old one.

As long as we get a dedicated bomber image component for loading particle sprites (much like the current image component), we should be fine. With this component one could in effect load any image as a 'brush'.
