One thing that has been bothering me is the often 'blink and you missed it' retention of new filters. I'm often away from my computer for several days at a time. When I have access to a computer, away from home, which isn't always, I don't have a copy of FilterForge with which to download new filters. If I try to review them when I get home, I'm S.O.L. if there are any which have rolled off the Recent page. This is a unique problem in that I can easily get up to speed with everything else (email, software updates, security patches, newsgroups, etc.).

My suggestion is to enlarge the Recent page, so that it can be of use to people, like me, who aren't able to look at it every day. Would it be that hard to make it so there is at least two weeks retention? If that's not doable, how about search by date (or even better range of dates)?

A few weeks ago, I received a very pleasant email from Bella, in Tech Support, explaining why printable manuals were not likely to be adopted. At any rate, I discovered that the manuals can be printed, and I printed the 160 odd pages that describe the filter components. I did this because I couldn't read some of the component names in the examples (despite good eyesight and a very sharp 21" monitor). I tried a screen magnifier, which only made the blurry names larger, but still unreadable. I figured maybe a 1200 DPI B/W copy would help, and it did in a way (legibility at the cost of color). Still, some of the examples are too small to be rescued even by a B/W printout (Control Components for example). Maybe, in those few cases where you have more than three or four components in an example, you could label them with bolder lettering.

Hi! Here all the filters ordered by their submission date:

You may find this link at top right corner of the "Recent" tab ("All filters by submission date") in http://www.filterforge.com/filters/
Space... it seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.
