I'd love to see a bit more automated saving of rendered images... (take a peek at genetica, each map has a suggested name of 'FilterName+MapName') Or even better, something that lets you render and save all maps at one or two clicks...
FilterNameVariantNumberMapName... or something to that efect. Or even batch rendering of filters.
I'm more into using then making filters, this would save a LOT of time getting the tecture maps ready for use in 3D.

Seconded. That, and a command line batch-render utility with keyframing support. smile;)

i'd be happy just to have something that would tell me the file size any given render is going to be when i save it, especially when saved as a .jpg. i visit and post on a number of forums. every forum has its own image file size limit. that means when i have a render in FF, i then have to go to paint shop pro and re-save that same FF save, but save it now in a different file size. FF's forums allow 250k per image. retouchpro is 200k (for me) and other forums allow other sizes. so, it would be helpful if i could see the save size and adjust it right there in FF and save me the hassle of having to load up psp every time i'm going to post a render to a forum. all i'd need is a little file size indicator on the 'jpg options' slider when one saves.

Batch rendering and preset morphing (along with keyframing) would indeed be very cool smile8)

Kraellin, IIRC jpeg size is very hard (if not impossible) to predict without actually encoding the image - so a precise solution would have to reencode the image each time you change the compression slider.

kraellin,

while waiting for this to be implemented (fingers crossed), might look at Quick Photo Resizer:

http://www.dzsoft.com/photo-resizer.html

you can set up different profiles with target jpeg/bmp/png size, resolution, and compression level. you can make a profile for every forum you post on. then just drag an image (or a whole folder full) onto the thumbnail and choose the profile you want in the menu that pops up. the program opens, does a very good quality resize, and offers you the fixed file(s). it's super fast, flexible, and does a good job. it can even add a watermark as it works.

no i don't work for them i just use the program a lot smile:)

well, it's not that difficult to do in psp, garbanzo. it's just a tiny annoyance to have to open a second program to do what shld be able to be done in one. but, that's only half the time anyways, since i do sometimes touch up my work in FF in psp. still...

Kayframing would be cool, one could scroll though the variants, tag which ones to render out, assign a naming convention and go to sleep. Let the computer render out the filters and maps overnight.

I don't know whare to put this other 'wish'... for those of us whom can't make much in a way of filters, but want to use them. How about having a place for filter 'look' wishes?

I'm planing on buying the program (pro version) and want to use the filters for my 3D work, and would love to be able to request a thing or two, or at least describe an idea and see if anyone decides to take up making the filter. It'll be quite a while before I find time to get more in depth with filter making.
Perhaps there are more people like me... and filter makers may have a better chance at a HU filter... maybe. Just a thought. I dunno if it'll actually work out like that, but one can hope smile:)

that's an interesting idea, sort of like a library of thumbnails with tags?

something like a wish library smile:)
I posted the wish list library before I noticed the filter wish list thrad staring me in the face (Hangs head in shame... darn ADD)
With some sort of library setup, perhaps the creators could gage the level of interest for differnt things. I dunno, create an "I want it too" counter button.

Right now, my poor brain is about to explode wondering how to go about making victorian style floral patterns found on victorian linens and wallpapers... and then add a fabric weave or tapestry look to them. Something with symmetries and patterns used in textile design. Creats, paisleys, brocades... (LOL, maybe in my next life) It would be pretty complex task.
I took one of the tiling/kaleidoscoped pattern making filters and tweaked it to arrive to a really bleak version of what I'm talking about...
(sorry to digress into a totally different thread topic)

try one of ahimsa's or foxxee's pattern, fabric, doily type filters. might be something there you could use. and you could always post an image in the filters wanted section of the general discussion forum. just show the real world example and perhaps someone can come up with something or give you pointers on how to do it yourself. lots of helpful-creative folks here smile:)
