I know this has been touched upon.....but I was just thinking that it would be fantastic to have a text component that allowed user input, connected to a font library built into FF, and characters could be converted to tiles which allowed individual sizing, positioning, angle, etc.....
Maybe FF could have it connect to the OS font library.....which in addition to fonts, would also allow access to all the symbols and the OS Character Map library..... Steve

Oh, some of that would be excellent.....but wow, what a loaded component that would be.....but I wouldn't complain
I noticed that no one at FF weighed in on that??? ***nudge nudge*** Steve

you've been reading too many 'cereal' novels again, steve, and just getting yourself into an alphabet soup over this isnt going to help If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

multiple images and text would be great imo, i think they would break the limitations FF currently has and make it more than an effect and texture maker but a unique graphics app in it's own right which you could work with without the need for other apps

Well, a node-based 3D environment would be my first choice to start putting things all under one FF roof..... Steve

Me, and please forgive me for doing so but im actually thinking of getting genetica, why? well first off the multiple image support, then theres fur etc and the weather lab, some of the stuff you just can't do in FF and from what i have read may never get added, the way i see it is you have stuff in the library already like landscapes, is this seamless? no, so why stick to a we are only adding seamless options, imo all that needs to be done to the library is a a new non texture/non seamless area, then add multiple images, text, placement, morphing, custom module coding, particals, fractal generators etc, but again i doubt that will happen from what i read which is why im considering the competition also. FF would be my first choice of course but if stuff isn't going to get added why restrict myself to something thats limited when other apps offer the features (no offense FF guys this reply may annoy some but im just sharing my views here).
Edit - So yeah sorry but basically if somethings won't be added i probably will use other apps, im guessing you were joking of course but i figured i should express how i feel with the small chance my thoughts might make an impression somehow. and back to the seamless thing i think with multiple images you could still have seamless stuff, like for example a sci-fi wall panel, a light top right but within the area and a text center saying Area 88 etc, if the rest was seamless it would loop just fine, I think FF could be the most amazing graphics app available why restict the possibillitys

I totally agree with this and would really be fantastic, awesome, and excellent to be able to have a text user input component inside Filter Forge, but until now there is NO news that will happen and we are already in 2012.
Would be really interesting to have it featured inside FF 4.0
